NAHUNTA -- Ophelia Bissette Aycock, 87, Nahunta, left this earth to join her heavenly father Oct. 2, 2011, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Mrs. Aycock was born Jan. 17, 1924, in Wayne County to the late Ernest Bissette and Lida Langston Bissette.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Aycock will be held Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Barry Stallings and the Rev. Dr. Jerry Stephenson officiating. Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Pikeville Cemetery.

She is survived by her children, George Wayne Aycock, Jr., Rudine Aycock and friend, Gene Sasser, Billie Gooding (LaVern) and Carlton Aycock (Cindy). She is also survived by a brother, Paul Bissette (Edna), seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a "special dear friend," Betty Boyette.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Wayne Aycock Sr.; her two sisters, Ernestine Tyndall Dentzler and Annie Mae Howell; her two brothers, Benny Bissette and E.C. Bissette; and a special daughter-in-law, Pam Price Aycock.

The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home, and at other times at the residence, 2318 Nahunta Road, Pikeville.
