Bessie Wheeler Robinson, 85, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her loving family.
Bessie was born in Wayne County May 26, 1926, to the late George Wheeler and Sarah Jane Hall Wheeler.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. A.G. Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Pine View Cemetery.
Bessie is survived by her son, John Thomas Jernigan and wife, Linda, of Goldsboro; her daughters, Margaret Best and Hilda Chase both of Goldsboro; her daughter-in-law, Gayle Jernigan of Pensacola, Fla.; her 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; her brother, Charles Wheeler of Goldsboro; her sisters, Dorothy Coley of Goldsboro and Peggy Guy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Charlie Robinson and Woodrow Jernigan; her son, Harold F. Jernigan; her brothers, Robert Wheeler and James Wheeler; and her sister, Elizabeth Williams.
The family will receive friends Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
