HARLOWE P. JURNEY

Harlowe Pender Jurney, 77, passed away on Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddie McKeel officiating. Interment will follow at Eureka Cemetery.

Harlowe was born in Wayne County on May 18, 1934, to the late Frank Pender and Mattie McKeel Pender. She was employed as the credit manager for Freeman Jewelers for many years. Harlowe was an avid supporter of the Disabled American Veterans and the North Carolina Sherriff's Association.

Harlowe is survived by her husband, Clarence Neal Jurney; her son, Michael Edward Jones, of Goldsboro; her grandson, Michael Edward Jones II of Goldsboro; her granddaughters, Amber Danielle Sharek and Holly Lynn Jones; her great-grandchildren, Talon Michael Jones, Logan William Sharek and Brayden Gage Sharek; her sisters, Hazel Smith, Agnes Hart and Shirley Johnson, all of Goldsboro and Grace Stelly and husband Robert of Norfolk, Va.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Marvin Pender and Lloyd Pender.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 45 at 112 Patrick St., Goldsboro.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home, 237 S. Hillcrest Drive, Goldsboro.
