STANLEY B. GRADY

DUDLEY -- Stanley Brewington Grady, 93, Dudley, died of natural causes Thursday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

He was the adopted son of the late Josephine Brewington Grady and James Grady of Dudley and the natural son of the late Nathan Almond Brewington of Durham.

He was married to the late Mary Greenfield Grady in 1941, and they lived together in Dudley.

Mr. Grady was a brickmason, masonry subcontractor and farmer. His masonry work is visible in homes and businesses throughout eastern North Carolina. He enjoyed his work and only retired at the age of 90.

He was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Dudley, and regularly attended Bethel Baptist Church in Clinton.

He is survived by four children, Stanley Grady Jr. and wife, Janice, of High Point, Jerry A. Grady and wife, Sylvia, of Raleigh, Don A Grady and wife, Joan, of Burlington and LaVern M. Grady of Raleigh; four grandchildren, Rhett Grady, Brian Grady, David Grady and Costeel Grady; and a great-granddaughter, Kirsten Grady.

A private graveside service will be held with the Rev. Terry Cummings officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
