SEVEN SPRINGS -- Roger Hubert Edmundson, 55, of Seven Springs, passed away Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011. Roger was born Sept. 22, 1955, in Greene County to the late Hubert "Tip" Edmundson Jr. and Louise Smith Edmundson. Roger enjoyed NASCAR racing and was a diehard Jimmie Johnson fan. Most of all, Roger cherished time spent with his family.
A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011, at 7 p.m. from Rouse Funeral Home with Rev. Juanita Hollowell and Rev. Elbert Hollowell officiating. Interment will be Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, at 10 a.m. from Westview Cemetery, Kinston.
Roger is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kathy Cox Edmundson; three children, Elizabeth Tyndall and husband, Wayne, Roger Derick Edmundson and Thomas Edwards, all of Seven Springs; four grandchildren, Christopher, Kaylee, Brittani and Ciarra; six siblings, Brenda Williams and husband, Ralph of Goldsboro, Mary Carter and husband, Frog, of La Grange, Judy Morris of Dudley, Donna Howell and husband, Buddy, of Snow Hill, Patsy Futrelle and husband, Tony of Pikeville, Lori Wells of Mount Olive; sister-in-law, Pat Edmundson of Richmond, Va.; and brother-in-law, Willie Butts of Seven Springs; three special children, Deborah Davis, Toni Maready and Tammy Sprouse. In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by three siblings, Paulette Butts, Ronnie Edmundson and Paul Scott Edmundson.
