Mary Venitia Warren Thorne, 90, died Sunday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family. She was born in Sampson County on Feb. 4, 1921 to the late Lucian A. Warren Jr. and Daisy Venitia Crow Warren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by her funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Bill Rose officiating. Interment will follow at Willow Dale Cemetery.
Mary is survived by her son, Kenneth Wadsworth and wife, Jean, of Goldsboro; her daughter, Seleia Sharpe, and husband, Stoney, of Goldsboro; her daughter-in-law, Frankie Wadsworth Spain; her 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mildred Ann Boyd; her sons, Deams Ray Wadsworth and Carl Warren Wadsworth; and brother, Needham Avery Warren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center at 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
