LaGRANGE -- Robert Donald Jones, 71, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2011, at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Harold Anderson, the Rev. Thomas McLendon and the Rev. Edward R. Heimbach officiating.
Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Robert was born in Wayne County on April 8, 1940, to Johnnie Mae S. Jones of LaGrange and the late Robert Fletcher Jones. He worked for many years as plumber and pipefitter, and for more than 35 years, he was a member of the Local Union 421 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters. Robert was a member of New Hope Church of God.
In addition to his mother, Robert is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Ann Parks Jones; his daughter, Tracy Lynn Heimbach and husband, the Rev. Edward R. Heimbach, of LaGrange; his sons, Robert Dale Jones of Goldsboro and Donnie Ray Jones of Michigan; his sister, Diane Oakley of LaGrange; his brother, Gary David Jones of New Bern; seven grandchildren, Travis Lee Carter, Dylan Beck, Woody Jones, Melissa Jones, Cheyenne Heimbach, Hannah Heimbach and Rosie Heimbach; and three great-grandchildren, Carlie Brook, Jesse Lynn and Kailey Grace Jones.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Jones; a sister, Joann Perry and a niece, Cindy Taylor.
The family will receive friends Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home, 102 Barbara Drive, LaGrange.
