Mother Nillie Coley, 79, lovingly known by her family and friends as "Horn," 105 Beverly Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., departed this life Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, N.C.

"Horn" was born June 1, 1932, to the late Effie Anderson Barrett and Haywood Barrett.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jasper Barrett, and a daughter, evangelist Thelma Hamilton.

Many years ago, she dedicated her life to our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, and became a member of White Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

She was a member of the No. 2 choir, and served on the mother board. She had a special love for her church.

Also, she had a special love for her flower garden and truly enjoyed tending her yard.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, July 9, 2011, at 1 p.m. at White Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church, 2261 Big Daddy's Road, Pikeville, N.C., with elder Dorian R. Suggs officiating. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery South, 2925 U.S. 117 South, Dudley, N.C.

A public viewing will be held Friday, July 8, 2011, at McIntyre Funeral Home and Florist, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., from 2 to 7 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m. to receive friends and other family members.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her devoted husband of 50 years, William Coley; a son, James Barrett of Goldsboro, N.C.; a sister, Ella Mae Mosley of Snow Hill; three brothers, Willie Earl Barrett and wife, Rachel, Joe Ben Barrett of Goldsboro and Henry Barrett of Windsor, N.C.; four brothers-in-law, Marvin Coley and wife, Annie, Nathaniel Coley and wife, Dollie, Alfonzo Coley and El D. Coley of Goldsboro; four sisters-in-law, Mildred Lucus, Louvenia Lane, Emma Wooten and Minnie Hamilton of Goldsboro; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at 105 Beverly Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., where it will also assemble one hour prior to the funeral in preparation for the funeral procession.
