GLADYS WORLEY HARTLEY

PRINCETON -- Gladys Worley Hartley, 91, died Wednesday morning at Barbour Court Nursing Home in Smithfield.

Born Nov. 25, 1919, in Johnston County to the late Jake and Leona Woodard Worley, she was the widow of David J. Hartley, who died Sept. 17, 1965.

Gladys was preceded in death by brothers, Chester Worley and Jim Worley; sister, Ilene Ward; a grandson, Durwood Baker; and a son-in-law, Ed Baker.

She was a member of Princeton Church of God of Prophecy since 1964.

Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ramon Mizell and the Rev. Jimmy Earp officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

A burial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Hasting Cemetery near Princeton.

Surviving are her sons, the Rev. David "Pete" Hartley and wife, Alice, and the Rev. Percy Hartley and wife, Ann, all of Princeton; daughters, Eula Mae Baker of Four Oaks and Barbara Worley and husband, Roger, of Princeton; brothers, Otis Worley of Smithfield and Leo Worley of Durham; sisters, Edna Stafford of Goldsboro and Lois Childers of New Hill; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
