EDNA EDWARD SMITH

PRINCETON -- Edna Edwards Smith, 82, Church Street, Princeton, went home to be with her Lord Wednesday, July 6, at SECU Hospice House.
She was born July 30, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Albert Council Edwards and Lucille Gurley Edwards. She was the widow of Rhodes Culberth Smith Sr.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Bobbie Gray Edwards.
A service of remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 8, at Princeton Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dwayne Batten officiating. Burial will follow in Princeton Cemetery.
She is survived by a son, Rhodes C. Smith Jr. "Mickey" and wife, Jackie, of Princeton; daughter, Vicky Smith Edwards and husband, Michael, of Princeton; sister, Jean Edwards Haddock of Princeton; grandchildren, Jason Edwards and wife, Stephanie, Joshua Edwards and wife, Erica, Mandi Smith and Linda Smith; and great-granddaughter, Alyssa Edwards.
Although flowers are welcome, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Princeton Area Library Supporters, P.O. Box 500, Princeton, N.C., 27569.
The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 7, at Casey Funeral Home in Princeton.
