STANTONSBURG -- Mrs. Annie Petteway, 1072 Herman Lane Road, Stantonsburg, N.C., was born July 15, 1944, to the late Hattie Artis and Thomas Lamme in Wayne County, N.C. She quietly departed this life Saturday at her residence surrounded by family.
She was educated in the Wayne County Public Schools.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted husband, James Petteway; her precious children, Carolyn Speight, Pamela Petteway and Ricky Petteway; and a host of grandchildren, siblings, in-laws, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Family will be present to receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m.
A service of remembrance will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Victory and Dominion Church in Snow Hill. After which the E.M. Matthews classic angelic white fleet will escort Mrs. Petteway's delicate temple, along with her adored family, to Fremont Cemetery for committal rites. For God saw fit to pluck from this earth Mrs. Annie Petteway, and all who knew her can only imagine how the master's garden looks now, having added this beautiful and radiant flower.
