RENO, Nev. -- Kathleen "Kay" Hare Oetken, 95, passed away in Reno Feb. 2, 2011.
She was born in Wayne County, N.C., to Durand and Clyde West Hare May 21, 1915.
She is survived by her sons, Darrell and wife, Linda, of Reno and Maurice and wife, Roberta, of Austin, Texas; daughter, Almeta Houghton; sister, Esther Hobby of Goldsboro; brother, Lloyd Hare of Greenville, S.C.; a sister-in-law, Pauline Hare; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Bud; daughters, Bernice and Margaret; sons, Jimmie Howell and Keith Oetken; a sister, Cleo Werner; and brothers, Albert, Fred and Willard Hare.
A celebration of life was held in Reno Feb. 7, 2011.
