WILLIAM EARL "TUT" HERRING

ROSE HILL -- William Earl "Tut" Herring, 86, Rose Hill, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at Sampson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Herring was born Aug. 25, 1924, in Duplin County to the late Bennie G. and Pearl M. Herring.
Mr. Herring was a retired businessman, and a United States Navy veteran.
He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Thorsen and husband, Mike, of Leonardtown, Md.; brother, Jerome "Archie" Herring and wife, Susie, of Wrightsville Beach; sisters, Mattie Best and husband, Carroll, of Warsaw and Ruth Philbeck of Charlotte; grandchildren, Taylor and Lauren Thorsen; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Herring was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Ann Herring, and brothers, Ben Herring and Gene Herring.
Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at Community Funeral Home of Warsaw.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, in Devotional Gardens with Mr. Tim Bass officiating.
