MILDRED M. SMITH

MOUNT OLIVE -- Mildred Martin Smith, 87, passed away Thursday, Feb. 24, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Mildred was born in Sampson County Dec. 29, 1923, to the late Samuel and Sally Meyers Martin, and was the widow of Jerry Smith.
Mrs. Smith retired from Mt. Olive Pickle Co., and was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dann Patrick officiating. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mildred is survived by her daughters, Joyce Ann Hope and Shirley P. Hope of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Danny Hope and wife, Trudy, Connie Ham and husband, Ricky, Brenda McGee and husband, Danny, Ricky Hope and wife, Janet, Christy, Franklin, Quinton and Mark Hope; 14 great-grandchildren, including a very special great-grandson, Bryan Jones and wife, Brandy; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made to Faith Free Will Baptist Church, 1200 W. Grantham St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, and at other times at the home of Danny and Trudy Hope, 302 Shamrock Road, Goldsboro.
