FAISON -- Wayne Morison Cox, 63, 236 Eldon Thornton Road, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.
Mr. Cox was born in 1947 in Wayne County to the late Jasper and Lillie Altmon Cox, and was in the United States Army, and also worked for a private security company in New York City for many years.
A going home service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at Hope Valley Funeral chapel in Clinton, with pastor Ollen Raynor officiating. Burial will be private at the family's request.
Mr. Cox is survived by his brother, Hubert Cox of Fredericksburg, Va.; sister, Louise Jones of Durham; and a host of nieces and nephews.
There was a public viewing from 1 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m. at Hope Valley Funeral Service and Cremation in Clinton.
