PAUL LAURENCE LEVINGSTON

Died Feb. 13, 2011

INDIANA -- Paul Laurence Levingston II, 67, passed away Feb. 13, 2011.

Paul was born in Warsaw, N.C.

Paul attended public schools in Duplin County, and completed a bachelor's degree at North Carolina Central University and a master's degree at Murray State University. He was a doctoral candidate in psychology at the University of Missouri.

Paul also served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

For many years, he worked in the Job Corps Program as a teacher and counselor in Morganfield, Ky., and as a center director in Edinburgh, Ind.

Paul was a member of the faculty, and served in the administration at Martin University.

He was a friend, mentor and counselor to countless people during his long career working with at-risk youth in Job Corps, the Indianapolis Public Schools and in several other programs including Project Impact and the Giant Steps Program.

Paul is survived by his wife, Myrteen Coleman Levingston; three sons, Deon (Angela), Paul III (Crystal) and Luttrell (Christine), and his sister, Arlene Stokes of Warsaw.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at Light of the World Christian Church.
