Middis Harrison Overbee died peacefully Wednesday night, Feb. 16, 2011, at Britthaven Nursing Home surrounded by her family.
Middis was born Oct. 14, 1911, to the late Iche Worth Harrison and Metta Hillard Harrison. She was married to the late Braxton Otto Overbee.
Middis was a member of Baptist Center in Clayton, N.C.
She loved working in her garden and flowers and crocheting. Middis was a homemaker, and enjoyed caring for her family. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Funeral services will be Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Sherman Gutherie officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service. Interment will be Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.
Middis is survived by her sons, Braxton Junior "B.J." Overbee and wife, Jean, and Adrian Harrison Overbee and wife, Jackie, all of Goldsboro; her daughter-in-law, Linda Overbee of Pikeville; her sister, Wanna Mae Neiderhiser of Champion, Pa.; her grandchildren, Cindy O. Aehlich and husband, Bill, Tanya O. Johnson and husband, Jeff, Lisa O. Rice and husband, Dana, Scott Overbee and wife, Kelly, and Tina Overbee; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jesse Worth Overbee, and several brothers and sisters.
The family will also receive friends at the home of her son, B.J. Overbee at 1103 Shelley Drive, Goldsboro, N.C.
The family would like to thank the staff of Britthaven Nursing Home for the care and love it showed her.
