MOUNT OLIVE -- Grover Millard Hall, 77, 113 Stephen St., Mount Olive, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at his home.

A funeral Mass will be said Monday, Feb. 14, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, celebrated by monsignor John Williams, followed by words of encouragement by the Rev. Jeff Dail.

The family will remain at the funeral home to receive friends at the conclusion of the service, and at other times they will be at the residence.

Committal and burial will be Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 11 a.m. in Maplewood Cemetery with military honors.

Known as "Blue Boy" or "Blue" to family and friends, Mr. Hall was retired from the United States Air Force, having attained the rank of master sergeant.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mount Olive.

Surviving are his wife, Betty D. Hall of the home; two daughters, Kathy H. Jacobs and husband, Tony, of Mount Olive and Mary Ann H. Barwick and husband, Danny, of Mount Olive; two stepchildren, Betty Ann D. Grady and husband, Billy Ray, of Pine Mountain, Ga., and Elton Ray Davidson and wife, Jan, of Mount Olive; two brothers, Rodney Hall and Bobby Hall both of Mount Olive; four grandchildren, Isaac Anderson of Goldsboro, Lisa A. Dail and husband, the Rev. Jeff Dail, of Calypso, Lindsay B. Kornegay and husband, Jon Kornegay, of Mount Olive and Ashley Jacobs of Asheville; two great-grandchildren, Caden Dail and Lucas Dail; four stepgrandchildren, Billy Lee Grady and wife, Connie, and Rebecca Carter and husband, Scottie, all of Pine Mountain, Ga., Scottie Ray Davidson of Mount Olive, and Brandon Keith Davidson of Raleigh; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; special family friends, Michael and Judy Deconti of Maniwaki, Quebec, Canada; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his girls, Kathleen Meness Hall; his parents, Daniel J. "Jimmy" and Pearl V. Millard Hall; brothers, Charlie Hall, Perry Hall, Elbert Hall, W. F. "Dub" Hall and Gurman Hall; and two sisters, Elmyrtle H. Moore and Sadie H. Gautier.
