Virginia Britt Hill, 83, went to be with her Lord Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, at Durham Regional Hospital surrounded by her family.

Virginia was born in Wayne County Feb. 1, 1927, to the late Evion Britt and Luna B. Britt. She was married to the late William Vance Hill for 61 years.

Virginia's primary goal was the happiness and security of her family.

She will be remembered as loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Virginia always enjoyed visiting with her church family and friends. She got great pleasure in cooking and sewing for her family, and could often be found helping others in her community.

Virginia was a lifelong member of Eureka Christian Church.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Frank Purvis officiating. Interment will be Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Wednesday following the service.

Virginia is survived by her daughters, Jennifer H. Hartley and her husband, Jesse, and Sherrie H. Davis and her husband, Rex, of Goldsboro; her son, Donnie Hill and his wife, Faye, of Mount Olive; and her beloved grandson, Chad Davis and wife, Jenny. She is also survived by Faye's children, Jackie O'Quinn and wife, Carmen, and Stacy O'Quinn and wife, Dawn, and their children, Alexis and Edgar.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Faye Hill; her grandson, Jason Ray Davis; and her sisters and brothers, Helen Register, Wilson Britt, Ruby Lutrell, Roy Britt, George Everett Britt and Estle Britt.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Eureka Christian Church, 2036 Dobbersville Road, Mount Olive, N.C., 28365.

The family would like to give special thanks to all those who cared for their mother during her declining health at the nursing home and hospital. May God bless each of you.
