Gary Leonard Walston, 51, passed away New Year's Eve, Dec. 31, 2010, at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
Services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at 7 p.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro, with the Rev. James Hairr, the Rev. Wayne Goff and the Rev. Patsy Jones officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service. Entombment will be held Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel in Dudley.
Gary was born in Wilson County April 8, 1959.
He was a very talented musician, and loved to play the piano and sing. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Norma Jean Walston of Mount Olive; a brother, Walter Ray Walston of Granite Falls, N.C.; two sisters, Brenda Griffin and husband, Warren, of Fremont and LaVerne Walston Precythe of Calypso; and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends, including Christine Malpass.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Henderson Walston, and a sister, Sandra Kearney.
