BANNER ELK -- Stephen Roth Farfour, 52, Banner Elk, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010.

He was born Sept. 8, 1958, in Wayne County, N.C., son of Michaux and Frankie Shaver Farfour of Goldsboro, N.C.

Stephen was a Kappa Sigma Fraternity brother and, in his youth, was No. 1 in the state for golf and tennis.

He enjoyed boating, skiing, tennis and golf, and is described as the best boater ever.

A loving father and husband, who adored his wife and children, and was a friend to everyone, Stephen has left to cherish his memory, along with his parents, his wife, Gina Bradshaw Farfour of the home; daughters, Devon and Taylor Farfour of the home; brother, Jeff Farfour and wife, Kelly; nephew, Parker Farfour; niece, Madison Farfour of Weddington, N.C.; parents-in-law, Gene and Virginia Bradshaw of Banner Elk; brother and sister-in-law, Leon and Karen Cleghorn; nephews, Travis and Josh Cleghorn; brother-in-law, Phil Bradshaw; nieces, Alexandra and Shenan; nephew, Nathan Bradshaw; sister-in-law, Tina Cecil; and niece, Camryn Cecil. Included as family are the numerous friends Steve had during his lifetime.

A memorial service for Mr. Farfour will be held in Goldsboro, N.C., Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at 7 p.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Drew Clark and the Rev. Tom Norris, O.S.F.S., presiding.

The family will greet friends Tuesday following the service at the church, and other times at 1101 Park Ave. in Goldsboro.
