Cecil Ray Edwards, 82, of 315 Blackjack Church Road, died on Nov. 19, 2010, surrounded by family and friends.
Cecil's love of life celebration will be held at Community Funeral Home in Beulaville today, Nov. 21, at 3 p.m.; family visitation will immediately follow. A private family graveside service will be held on Monday.
Mr. Edwards served in the Navy and was retired civil service as a rural mail carrier in Beulaville. He was also retired as an automotive salesman from both Gene Taylor Chevrolet and Dan Wise Chevrolet. Cecil is preceded in death by his wife, Lura Jean Edwards; a son, Royden Keith Edwards; a granddaughter, Brandy Leigh Miller; and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ruffin Edwards. He is survived by his dear and special friend, Pearl James; daughters and spouses, Fay and Mike Sweat, Raleigh, Annette and Doug Brown, Fountain Town, Sharon and Phillip Jackson, Raleigh, Vickie and Mike Jones, Kinston, Karen and Jason Dillard, Panama City, Fla.; sister, Inez Lewis, Apex; brothers, Charles W. Edwards Sr., Beulaville, Donald Edwards, Jacksonville, and Landon Edwards, Fayetteville; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
