GRAHAM HUNTER CLARK

On Friday afternoon, Graham Hunter Clark, 75, moved to his Heavenly home while surrounded by his family and many of his close friends.
A service to celebrate Graham's life will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Bill Rose officiating. Interment will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Graham was a man who loved the Lord and his family and set a godly example for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will lead them all their lives.
Graham was born in Wayne County on March 5, 1935, to the late Rudolph Duffy Clark and Mabel Potter Clark. For many years, he owned and operated, with his family, Clark Real Estate and Auction Company in Goldsboro. He had been a member of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church for 57 years. He was faithful in his ministry to the church serving as a Young Adult Sunday School Teacher, Lifeliners Youth Leader and served on the Deacon Board for more than 30 years. Graham also organized a Jail Ministry and served on the Church Building Committee. He has auctioned for more than 40 years at area Church Harvest Sales. Graham had a tireless commitment to help support the Mission Outreach Ministry at the First Church and several other personal Missionary friends.
For more than 20 years, Graham had been an active member of the Gideons International Goldsboro North Camp, volunteering extensively within the camp to place Bibles with students and in hotels and hospitals in Wayne County. He also spoke in many of the local churches for the Gideons. Graham was always giving back to his community and would volunteer his time to auction at annual events for the Lions Club of Wayne County.
Graham had a love of fishing, relaxing in his easy boy chair, and playing pool with friends. He loved going to the mountains, traveling around the country and listening to various styles of music including going to live shows in Branson and Myrtle Beach. Graham loved playing the harmonica and having friends and family gather in his home for times of food, fellowship and pool. He enjoyed going to other auctions, especially as a regular on Saturday nights at Carson's Auction in Institute. He has always had a compassionate heart for the less fortunate in need and for many years would offer jobs or even cash to help people through their crisis.
Graham is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betsy Talton Clark; son and daughter-in-law, Greg Clark and wife, Renae; daughter and son-in-law, Pam Clark Crutchfield and husband, Randolph, all of Goldsboro; son, Chad Clark of Wilmington; grandchildren, Leigh Ann Bartlett and husband, Matthew, Lindsey Ortiz and husband, John, Clark Crutchfield and Morgan Crutchfield; and a great-grandchild, Andrew Ortiz, but was anticipating the birth of another great-grandchild, Landon Bartlett. He is also survived by his sister, Ruth Robinson and his life-long best friend, Jack Boyette and family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald E. Clark.
