The family will receive friends at the residence immediately following the interment.

Kristie, widely known for her baking abilities, her friendliness and genteel spirit, was a longtime member of Northeast Free Will Baptist Church, where she was currently serving as youth director.

She was a parent volunteer at Wayne Christian School in Goldsboro, and was very active in the family business, Jernigan Family Farms.

Kristie is survived by her husband, Dwayne Lee; a daughter, Hannah Lee; and a son, Gavin Lee all of the home; her parents, Douglas and Aileen King Jernigan of Mount Olive; a brother, Allen Jernigan and wife, Brianna, of Mount Olive; a sister, Kimberly Smith and husband, Scott, of Mount Olive; her paternal grandparents, Marvin and Dorothy Jernigan of Mount Olive; her parents-in-law, William Earl and Roxann Lee of Faison and Melville Odom of Mount Olive; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Allen Royce and Joyce Malpass King, and her mother-in-law, Carolyn Pate Odom.

Flowers are welcome; however, because of Kristie's love for children and her involvement with them, memorials to the Northeast Church Youth Group would be appreciated (c/o Amy Best, 1468 Kelly Springs Road, Mount Olive, N.C., 28365).

A Tyndall service.
