LAGRANGE -- Ruby Joyner Perry, 68, LaGrange, passed away Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010.

Ruby was born Feb. 16, 1942, in Greene County to the late Hebrew and Lizzie Norris Joyner.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Ricky Lee Perry and Lenwood Scott Perry.

She formerly worked with Barry's, and retired from the housekeeping department at Caswell Center.

Ruby was a member of Free Gospel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

She loved everyone and especially enjoyed children.

A service of remembrance will be held Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at 7 p.m. at Free Gospel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. Interment will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery.

Ruby is survived by her husband of 53 years, Lenwood B. Perry; daughter, Thelma Hunter and husband, Richard, of Goldsboro; two sisters, Vickie Wells of Falkland and Marie Hinnant of Rocky Mount; four brothers, Harry Joyner of Maury, J.W. Joyner of Rocky Mount, Donald Joyner of Hookerton and Billy Joyner of Chocowinity; along with a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday following the service of remembrance, and at other times they will be at the home.
