LOIS KENNEDY MITCHELL

Lois Kennedy Mitchell, 104, passed away on Friday, July 30, 2010, at the Brian Center.
Lois was born in the Grantham Community (Quaker Neck) of Wayne County on April 29, 1906, to the late William A. Kennedy and Annie Bridgers Kennedy. She was married to the late Edmund Floyd Mitchell Sr. Lois worked as a sales clerk for the Belk's department store in Goldsboro for many years.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, August 1, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Lewis Baker officiating.
Lois is survived by her granddaughter, Melody Mitchell of Goldsboro and her son-in-law, Herman W. Edwards Jr. and wife, Beverly, of Goldsboro.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Edwards; her son and daughter-in-law, Floyd and Joyce Mitchell; and her grandson, Edmond Mitchell.
Flowers are welcome, but also memorials may be given to one's favorite charity in her memory.
The family received friends Saturday, July 31, 2010, from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of Herman and Beverly Edwards, 303 Muriel Hooks Drive, (Rosewood) Goldsboro.
