Patricia Carter Buttram, 63, of 303 20th St., Butner, died Thursday at her home.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with the Rev. T.C. West officiating. Interment will follow at Pineview cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was born in Goldsboro to the late Charlie Rufus Carter and Blanch Mozelle Watkins Carter. A retired teacher with WAGES Project Head Start. She worked as lead teacher and assistant director. She was a member of Walker Memorial United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Buttram is survived by one daughter, Pamela B. Moore of Butner; two stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, Danny Lee Buttram and Sherri Buttram of Tuscon, Ariz., and Leslie "Les" Zane Buttram and Vicki Buttram of Virginia; a brother, Jerry Allen Carter of Goldsboro; sisters-in-law, Annette Carter and Margie Carter both of Goldsboro; two grandsons, Joseph Quinn Moore and Andrew Ryan Moore; and five great-grandchildren; as well as a special friend and ex-husband, Harold E. Hamberger.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Walker Memorial United Methodist Church.
