ALPHEUS SPEED MOSELEY

Alpheus Speed Moseley, 88, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at his home in Fuquay-Varina.

Mr. Moseley was born in Warren County on July 12, 1922 to the late Charles Frederick Moseley and Nancy Jones Moseley. He graduated from John Graham High School in Warrenton. He served in the United States Navy in World War II and retired after 35 years of service as Air Traffic Control Specialist with the Federal Aviation Administration.

He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Jo Steppe Moseley.

He is survived by his daughter, Jane M. Russell, son, the Reverend Charles K. Moseley, five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and sister, Marina Moseley. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Kelley M. Cross and Nancy M. Bullock.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist in Fuquay-Varina with the Reverend Anne Ahl officiating. Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Warrenton, at a later date.

The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 402 North Main Street, Fuquay-Varina, NC, or a charity of one's choice.
