David Lee Echols, 65, died Saturday at his residence.
He was born in Orlando, Fla., to Ethel Irene White Echols of Oregon and the late Joseph Fred Echols.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
A memorial service was held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with full military honors.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Vivian Perroza Echols, and five children.
The family received friends immediately following the memorial service.
