LOIS EDMUNDSON MCKEEL

Sept. 23, 1931-July 9, 2010

Lois E. McKeel, born Sept. 23, 1931, to the late Maggie M. Edmundson and Larry Ray Edmundson, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 9, 2010, at her home with her family by her bedside.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday July 12, at Faro P.F.W.B. Church with the Rev. Joe Strouse officiating. Interment will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Eureka Cemetery.

Lois was an avid animal lover, she would have up to 35 cats at one time. She loved her little dog, Be Be, with all of her heart. She was a great lover of country music and had fun watching softball and her great-grandchildren playing. She retired from Barry of Goldsboro, and has missed the people that she worked with for several years. Mrs. McKeel was a member of Faro P.F.W.B. Church and loved to eat, meet, and worship with them all.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Lester McKeel; daughters, Betty Smith and friend Norman Ivey of Goldsboro, Diane Whitley of Faro, Sandra Ulrey and husband, Kevin, of Pikeville; and a son, Billy McKeel of the home.

Mrs. McKeel is survived by her grandchildren, Angela Ritchie and husband, Randy of Pikeville, Javita Henderson and husband, Ron, of Raleigh, Shannon Evans and husband, Jay, of Faro, Christopher Turnage and wife, Stacy, of Georgia, Miranda Beasley of Pikeville; a sister, Virginia Hudson of Goldsboro, and sister-in-law Mildred Edmundson of Pikeville. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Damian Henderson, Whitley Henderson, Darius Henderson, Shiane Evans, Carli Rae Evans, Collin Beasley, and Codey Pierce.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. McKeel was preceded in death by sons-in-law, Donald Smith and Ray Whitley; daughter-in-law, Lola Royster; a sister, Mae Owens; brothers, William Edmundson, Wilbert Edmundson, Ray Edmundson, and Paul Edmundson.

The family would like to thank all of the health care workers on the fourth floor I.C.U. heart center at Pitt Memorial Hospital. Also, the many friends' prayers, cards, and visits during her illness.

The family will receive friends following the funeral service at Faro P.F.W.B. Church and at other times at the residence, 3191 Big Daddy's Road, Pikeville.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made in her name to the Faro Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, 3616 Big Daddy's Road, Fremont.
