MOUNT OLIVE -- Bessie Lee Kennedy Tolar Lane, 78, 403 W. Station St., died Tuesday.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Tyndall Funeral Home, with her nephew, the Rev. Dennis Guy, officiating. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
Mrs. Lane is survived by her husband, Clayton Lane of the home; a daughter, Sandra Penã of Vanceboro; four grandchildren, Teshia Weeks, Trampus Tolar, Trevor Tolar and Steven Penã; a sister, Martha Mosley Guy Cannady of Faison; and special friends, Mike and Carolyn Withers of Mount Olive.
She was preceded in death by a son, Leland Tolar; her first husband, Carl Tolar; her parents, Ellis Faison Kennedy and Eva Byrd Kennedy; two sisters, Dollie Edwards and Lucy Harmon; and a brother, Grover Kennedy.
The family will receive friends tonight at Tyndall Funeral Home from 7 to 8, and at other times at the residence.
