Jackie Alva Randolph Floars, 74, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his loved ones.

A funeral service to celebrate his life will be Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Faith Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Christian Powell, the Rev. Rex Evans and the Rev. Greg Floars officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late George and Alvah Floars.

His Savior, Jesus Christ, his family and his church were the center and love of his life. He was a charter member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee for 48 years. He also served in numerous Sunday school positions, including Sunday school teacher for 43 years, and he also started and taught the Couples for Christ class for 36 years.

Jackie was the used car sales manager at Cobb Motor Co. for nine years and started Jackie's Used Cars in 1968, where he remained president until 2007.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sue Bagwell Floars; his sons, Greg Floars and wife, Lea, of Gwinn, Mich., Anthony Floars and wife, Kim, Johnny Floars and wife, Angela, all of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Laura Lea Ferguson and husband, Joe, Rachel Floars and Caleb Floars, all of Gwinn, Mich., and Kaithlyn, Drew, Kellie, Dillon, Randy, Carl and Adrien Floars, all of Goldsboro; siblings, Betsy and Mallie Honeycutt, Cecile and Billy Oscar Hooks and Bobby and Norma Ray Floars of Goldsboro; special sister-in-law, Ruby Floars of Goldsboro; his in-laws; Bill and Barbara Bagwell of Murrells Inlet, S.C., and Barbara Trail of Goldsboro; and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers; Alystyne Floars, Jimmy Floars and George Floars; his sister, Sylva Rhea Floars; and a special nephew, Vernon Floars.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and following the service in the fellowship hall of Faith Free Will Baptist Church.
