ROSE L. BUTTS
July 15, 1962 - April 30, 2010
MOUNT OLIVE -- Rose Lambert Butts, 47, of 846 N.C. Hwy. 403 W., went to her heavenly home on Friday evening. She was at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family when death came.
Funeral services will be held at Tyndall Funeral Home on Monday night at 7, with Pastors Doug Bartlett and Jeff Dail, along with her uncle, the Rev. Jimmy Swinson, officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Committal and burial will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Maplewood Cemetery.
Rose was a member of the 1980 graduating class of Southern Wayne Senior High School. She had attended the Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church her entire life, and was a loyal member of the Willing Workers Sunday School class.
She had been a faithful employee of the Mount Olive Tribune for over 28 years, serving as bookkeeper and later as office manager. For most of that time, she was the person behind that cheerful voice that always answered the telephone.
Rose was preceded in death by her mother, Rosa Goodson Lambert, and is survived by her husband of nearly 24 years, Anthony Butts, of the home; a son, Clay Butts of the home; a daughter, Jeanna Butts of the home, and Jeanna's friend, Doug Haley of Goldsboro; her father, Oscar R. Lambert of Mount Olive, and his special friend, Betsy G. Jones, also of Mount Olive; a brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Bonnie Lambert of Faison; a sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Dean Holmes of Mount Olive; her parents-in-law, Tony and Maxine Butts of Mount Olive; two nephews, Jeremy Holmes of Goldsboro, and Garrett Lambert, his wife, Amanda, and their daughters, Emma Grace and Savannah, all of Faison; a niece, Renee Lambert of Greenville; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family wishes to extend a special note of gratitude to Dr. Kasbari and the SMOC staff, Dr. Kerlin and the Wayne Radiation Oncology staff, and Wayne Hospital's third and seventh floor staffs for their loving care and support given to Rose and to them.
