K.G. Henderson, 77, of Snow Hill, went to be with the Lord on Thursday.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Fort Run Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Turlington officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Henderson was born in Duplin County to the late Demus Henderson and Lula Cruse. He worked in transportation for General Dynamics Shipyard in Connecticut. He was a member of Fort Run Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church and was very passionate about Harley Davidson Motorcycles.
Mr. Henderson is survived by his sons, Randy Henderson of Goldsboro, Kenneth Henderson of Goldsboro, Richard Henderson of Goldsboro, and John Henderson of New Hampshire; his daughters, Theresa Emmons of Connecticut, and Sandra Mercer of Albuquerque, N.M. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Heather Mercer, Vanessa Mercer, Michael Scott Henderson, Brock Henderson, Kasia Henderson, John Henderson Jr., Kelly Henderson, and several great-grandchildren. Mr. Henderson was dearly loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Potts Henderson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
The family will receive friends at Fort Run Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church on Tuesday night from 6 until 8 p.m. and at other times at the residence, 741 Sutton Road, Snow Hill, NC 28580.
