J. Paul Best passed away Thursday.
Memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Guy & Allen Chapel, 2959 W. 11th Ave.
He was a retired employee of the US Steel Corp. with 35 years of service and retired McDonald's breakfast club 5th Ave.
Survivors include two children, Verleaish (Otis) Jones and Cynthia Best; three brothers, Houston (Inez) Best of Jacksonville, Ralph (Lynette) Best of Mount Olive and Theodic (Tawanna) Best of Charlotte, Md.; two sisters, Ernestine Thompson of Washington, D.C., and Evelyn J. (Romearo) Parrish of Milford, Del.; companion, Geraldine Stokes; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife June Best; two brothers, Alfonzo and James Best; and two sisters, Ethel Dixon and Gladys Berrymore.
