GRANTHAM -- Danny Allen Brock, 57, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Sunday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held tonight at 7 at Providence United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Vernon Brown officiating. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery.

He was born in Wayne County to the late Perry Allen and Myrtle Lee Daniels Brock.

He worked as a Lineman with CP&L for 19 years.

A member of Providence United Methodist Church, he was also a member of the New Covenant Sunday school class and the Jaycees and was a T-ball coach with Grantham Youth Association.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and an inspiration to many.

Mr. Brock is survived by his wife of 38 years, Lynette Grady Brock; three sons and daughters-in-law, Grady Allen and Joy Brock of LaGrange, Daniel Perry and Melissa Brock of Winterville and Gregory Taft and Sarah Brock of Winterville; a brother, Grainger Brock of Grantham; and five grandchildren, Kalyn, Kara, Reagan, Emma and Taft.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Morris Brock and Carson Brock.

The family will be receiving friends immediately following the funeral service until 9 p.m. at Providence United Methodist Church and at other times will be at the home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund or the Brain Injury Association of North Carolina, P.O. Box 10912, Raleigh, N.C., 27605.
