MARY JO WADDELL
June 5, 1948-Feb. 15, 2010
Mary Jo Cox Waddell, 61, Grantham community, passed away Monday at the University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Falling Creek United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bob Clark and the Rev. Jean Hood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mary Jo was born in Wayne County June 5, 1948, to the late Victor Cox and Nita C. Cox.
She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to so many. Mary Jo loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Mary Jo is survived by her husband, Jerry B. Waddell; her daughters, Theresa W. Coley and husband, Tony, of Grantham, Kim W. Powell and husband, Kenny, of Goldsboro and Amanda W. Carter and husband, Chris, of Grantham; her grandchildren, Aeris Carter, Kayla Powell, Dara Powell, Justin Coley and Jacob Coley; her brother, Ed Cox and wife, Lynne, of Grantham; and her dear friend and special sister, Nancy Lee of Pikeville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Hanna Coley.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home.
