DURHAM -- Marie Odessa Sampson, 70, departed this life Monday.
The homegoing celebration will be held Saturday at noon at First African Baptist Church, 803 Harris St. in Goldsboro. Interment will be at Wayne Memorial Park South, U.S. 117. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon at the church.
Marie was born May 2, 1939, in Goldsboro to the late Georgia Sampson and George Thompson.
Marie leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Chleta T. Sampson Brown of Durham; a grandson, Pfc. Jamal R. Brown and his wife, Sharifa Brown, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a granddaughter, Quianna Marie Brown of Durham; a great-granddaughter, Priyah Faith Brown of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and a multitude of family and friends.
