Robert Milton Walters Jr., 44, of Laurel Hill, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel and will be officiated by Pastor Gary Wilson. Burial, with military honors, will follow at 2 p.m. at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Springs Lake, N.C.

Robert was born Oct. 18, 1965, in Waynesboro, Pa., son of Carolyn English Walters and the late Robert Milton Walters Sr. He proudly served his country in Operation Desert Storm as a member of the United States Army, retiring after 16 years of honorable service. Robert was the owner and operator of Robert's Tree Service for more than 26 years. He also enjoyed working for the Scotland County School System as a bus driver and was an assistant with AutoZone of Laurinburg. Robert also served his community as a volunteer with the Citizens Police Academy for the City of Laurinburg.

Robert was an honorable hard working man who was dedicated to his family. He was a great husband, father, son, son-in-law, brother-in-law and uncle. He also enjoyed hunting, four-wheeling and ocean fishing in his spare time.

Robert will be remembered in love by his wife, Hillary Kaye Walters, of their home; his daughter, Erica Robin Walters also of the home; two sons, Eric Mathew Walters and Robert Milton Walters III, both of Goldsboro; his mother, Carolyn Walters also of Goldsboro; siblings, Sherill Mendez and her husband, Eutiquio, Terry Maccoy and husband, Mark, Carole Gardner and husband, Mike, and Ricky Walters all of Goldsboro; father and mother-in-law, Michael and Marie Sanders of Laurel Hill; sister and brothers-in-law, Derrick and Christy Craner of Laurel Hill, Timothy and Lynn Burns of Laurel Hill; nephews, Chris Lowery, Tyler Burns and Patrick Burns; nieces, Julie Lowery and Allison Burns; special friends, Phillip Gunter, Frankie Jennifer and Allen Sanders.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. today, Nov. 1, 2009, at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
