FLORENCE W. ADAMS

LAGRANGE -- Florence Wood Adams, 89, passed away Sunday.

A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Brad Mitchell and the Rev. Gerald Stacy officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Florence Wood was born Aug. 10, 1920, in Lenoir County to the late Lucie Wood Adams and Ray McClain Adams.

She worked as manager in the family business, Adams Drug Co., and later worked at Raper Drugs, Eckerds and Walgreens.

Florence Wood was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church and LaGrange Garden Club. She was an avid bridge player.

Florence Wood is survived by two sisters, Margaret Moody of LaGrange and Emily Crater of Middlesex.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Alice James Adams; and two brothers, Ray McClain Adams Jr. and Reid Calwell Adams.

The family will receive friends beginning one hour before the service and at other times they will be at the home.
