BETTY D. MAYE

Betty D. Maye, 59, passed away peacefully Friday night at University Health System Inpatient Hospice Facility in Greenville.
Family and friends will gather Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home to share remembrances and special times.
Born in Swansboro, she was the daughter of the late William and Elma Lancaster Daughtry.
Ms. Maye graduated from Swansboro High School and business college in Raleigh. She was previously employed with the North Carolina Department of Revenue, Wayne Community College and the Strickland Insurance Group. She was currently a Mary Kay beauty consultant.
Betty was an avid North Carolina State Wolfpack fan and a lover of beach music.
She is survived by her husband, William Holloman; two daughters, Lauryn Maye of Clayton and Sarah Maye of Raleigh; two brothers, Roger and Mary Daughtry of Goldsboro and Doug and Jan Daughtry of Dunn; a number of nieces and nephews; and her special pet, Samantha, a Shipoo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed the Wayne County Animal Shelter, 1600 Clingman St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
