LAGRANGE -- Myrtle Best "Marie" Boyette, 77, passed away Monday at her home.
A service of remembrance will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Norma Walters officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Marie was born April 9, 1932, in Lenoir County to the late Richard and Bernice Lee Best.
Given the gift of a green thumb, she enjoyed taking care of her flowers and plants. Marie enjoyed collecting dolls, decorating and bird watching.
She worked as the bookkeeper for Tony's Tree Service.
Marie is survived by her husband of 28 years, Cecil Clarence Boyette Jr.; three children, Betty Carlyle Bloomer and husband, Jerry, of LaGrange, Douglas Norman Carlyle and wife, Carletta, of Richlands and Tony Ray Price and wife, Stephanie, of Mount Olive; two stepchildren, Jerry Dean Boyette of Seven Springs and Amelia Carol Blizzard and husband, Thomas, of Mount Olive; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; and her beloved dog, Baby Girl.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Rouse Funeral Home and at other times, they will be at the home.
