GREENSBORO -- Robert "Bobby" King, 66, died Tuesday at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held by the graveside Friday at 1 p.m. in Faison Cemetery in Faison.

Bobby grew up in Faison and was a graduate of North Duplin High School.

He was employed with Smith Hardware Co. in Goldsboro from 1964 until 1981, when he relocated to Greensboro to marry the love of his life, Sudie.

From then until 1996, he worked with Odell Hardware in Greensboro. In 2008, after 11 years of employment, he retired from Mylan Pharmaceuticals.

Bobby loved his family, the Tar Heels and drinking Pepsi. His love of the University of North Carolina sports, especially basketball and football, was well-known among those who knew him.

His surviving family are all from Greensboro, and they include his wife of 28 years, Sudie King; a son, Bobby DeWayne King; a stepson, Barry Musselwhite and wife, Jeanette; a stepdaughter, Sharon "Sherry" Maness; and two grandchildren, Kaylee and Dylan Maness.

He was preceded in death by a son, Tracy Todd King; his parents, Robert and Estelean King; and a brother, Wayne King.

The family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
