LLOYD YELVERTON

Lloyd Yelverton Jr., 84, passed away Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Harold Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.

Mr. Yelverton was born in Wayne County July 11, 1925, to the late Lloyd Yelverton Sr. and Carrie West Yelverton. He was married to the late Ellen Smith Yelverton.

Mr. Yelverton was a United States Army veteran of World War II and was a retired carpenter. He was a member of New Hope Church of God.

Mr. Yelverton is survived by his children, Mary Quick and husband, Ken, of Aberdeen, Dean Combs and wife, Kathy, of Goldsboro, Ricky Yelverton and wife, Sheila, of Goldsboro, Joey Yelverton and wife, Diane, of Garner and Jeffrey Yelverton and wife, Sabrina, of Alabama; his sister, Margaret Hamm Batten of Goldsboro; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jean Beagle; his sisters, Edna Heath and Sarah Sauls; and his brothers, Bob Yelverton and Ray Yelverton

Memorials may be made to New Hope Church of God, 702 E. New Hope Road, Goldsboro, NC, 27534.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Ricky and Sheila Yelverton, 111 Live Oak Drive, Goldsboro.
