VERENA P. JOHNSON

KENLY -- Verena Pauline Johnson, 89, a resident of the Pinkney community, passed away Tuesday at the Sterling House in Goldsboro.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with Dr. Richard Glosson officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Pauline was born in Wayne County Sept. 23, 1919, to the late Dewey Johnson and Mary Gurley Johnson. She was a member of Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church.
Pauline is survived by her brother, Dee Johnson of Pinkney; her sisters, Ruby Beamon, Christine Beamon and Irene Futrell all of Goldsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church, 1283 Union Grove Church Road, Fremont, NC, 27830.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of Dee and Marvel Johnson, 653 Pinkney Road, Kenly.
