MOUNT OLIVE -- Pennie Herring Jones, 94, 984 Red Hill Road, died Sunday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. from the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home after the service, and at other times at the home of Elwood Jones, 807 N. Church St. in Mount Olive.
Committal services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Pineview Cemetery.
She was a retired homemaker and poultry farmer.
Mrs. Jones is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn J. and Odom Futrell of Deep Run; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Elwood Jones of Mount Olive and Kenneth and Connie J. Jones of Mount Olive; two other daughters-in-law, Kathleen Jones of Shelbyville, Tenn., and Linda T. Jones of Mount Olive; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two special caregivers, Jan Cole and Judy Watkins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garvis Jones; two sons, Royce "Tobe" Jones and Park "Bill" Jones; a daughter-in-law, Joyce S. Jones; an infant daughter, Laney Evelyn Jones; and her sisters and brothers along with their parents, Needham and Laney Summerlin Herring.
