MILLIE TAYLOR

Died July 12, 2009

Mildred "Millie" Spivey Taylor, 74, 102 Bear Creek Road, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Adamsville Baptist Church, with pastor Todd Wiggins officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

A native of Nash County, she was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Mary King Spivey and the widow of Carson Darrell Taylor.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by her children, Michael Taylor and wife, Gerri, of Wake Forest, Tony Taylor of Goldsboro, Terrilyn Brantley and husband, Mitch, of Rocky Mount, and Sonya Cox and husband, Mickey, of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Amber Collins, Blaire Taylor, Greyson Taylor, Brittney Taylor, Zachary Brantley and Taylor and Caroline Cox; great-grandson, Carson Collins; and sisters, Juanita Rivenbark, Margaret Dorman and Barbara Hardy.

Millie was loved and adored by her sisters and the families of all her siblings. She was blessed with the friendship of several close sisters in Christ, Carol Baine, Betty Arnette and Trellis Phillips and members of Grace Bible class.

Millie was a faithful 33-year member and participant of Adamsville Baptist Church. She served in the church's prayer ministry, worked countless hours in the church's library, shared her gift of sewing in the banner ministry, sang in the choir and glorified the Lord in all of her selfless acts within and outside the church community.

Millie's favorite place to be, with the exception of church, was in her kitchen cooking for her family and friends. She enjoyed spending her days with family, working with flowers in the yard, reading her Bible, attending Bible studies and going on trips with her church family.

The family would like to express its sincerest gratitude for the prayers, love and support of their mother's extended family, friends and church. In addition, a heartfelt thank-you to Aunt Mollie and Brenda for their loving care of Mom in her declining health.

The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Home, and will be at the residence at other times.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Home Health & Hospice, 2402 Wayne Memorial Dr., Goldsboro, NC, 27534, or Samaritan's Purse, P. O. Box 3000, Boone, NC, 28607.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
