Bernice Sumner Jones, 85, died Wednesday at her residence.
Graveside services will be held at Maplewood cemetery Friday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Richard Hill officiating.
She was born in Duplin County to the late Lemuel and Dolly Hines Sumner and was married to the late Claude "Bud" Jones Jr.
Mrs. Jones is survived by a daughter, Arwiller Barwick of Roseboro; a son, Claude "Bill" Jones III and wife, Linda, of Mount Olive; one sister, Nora Jones of Kinston; a sister-in-law, Catherine Jones of Kinston; four grandchildren, Jimmy Jones of Calypso, Claude "Pete" Jones and wife, Kelly, of Princeton, Rhonda Priest and husband, Frankie, of Dunn and Vikki Childess and husband, Steve, of Jacksonville; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at the home of her son, Bill Jones and wife, Linda, 174 N.C. Hwy. 403, Mount Olive.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Rones Chapel United Methodist Church, 138 Garris Chapel Road, Mount Olive, NC, 28365.
