MARY FRANCES O. LEE

Aug. 20, 1912-June 12, 2009

Mrs. Mary Frances O'Brien Lee, 96, formerly of the Carolina House in Smithfield, died Friday at Britthaven Nursing Home in Smithfield.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Rosewood Church of God on Charlie Braswell Road with the Rev. Tom McLendon officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Lee was born in Roberson County, on Aug. 20, 1912, to the late Asa Hargrove O'Brien and Hannah Jane Betts and was married to the late William Morris Lee. She was a member of Rosewood Church of God. Mrs. Lee had a radio program in Mount Olive and also enjoyed working with the prison ministry and nursing home ministry.

Mrs. Lee is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jane Williford, and Sherwood, of Goldsboro, Edith Perry, and Danny, of Goldsboro and Ann Whitfield and Tony of Elm City; her sons, William Grier Lee, and Patty, of Carolina Shores, John Morris Lee and Betty of Goldsboro and Monty Lee of Little River; her sister, Lucy Jennette of Hendersonville; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Rosewood Church of God, 100 Tower Lane, Goldsboro, NC 27530

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Rosewood Church of God.
