AARON A. TWIGGS

Mr. Aaron Allen Twiggs, 83, of 1306 Peachtree St., went to be with his Savior Thursday at Wake Medical Center.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Bill Sutton and the Rev. Bill Rose officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Twiggs was born in Wayne County on May 15, 1926, to the late Ira Allen Twiggs and Naomi Capps Twiggs. He retired from the City of Goldsboro with 30 years of service. Mr. Twiggs was a member of the Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church where he had served as an usher. He also had served as deacon for 39 years and was president of the Men's Fellowship and Bob Self Sunday School class.

Mr. Twiggs was a World War II Army Veteran and served in the South Pacific. He received a number of medals and campaign ribbons. Mr. Twiggs was a member of the Woodmen of the World Lodge 1319 and was president for 17 years. In 1990, he received the Fraternalist of the Year Award Jurisdiction of NC. He also received the Good Neighbor Citation and Mr. Woodman.

Mr. Twiggs is survived by his wife, Janice Phillips Twiggs; his son, Jim L. Twiggs and wife, Dianne, of Goldsboro; his sister, Lola Holloman of Selma; his grandchildren, Lynne Rose and husband, Rev. Bill Rose, of Goldsboro and Jennifer Loftin and husband, Bryan, of Martinsville, Va.; his great grandchildren, Bill Rose Jr. and wife, Whitney, Summer Rose, Paul Rose, Elizabeth Loftin, Sarah Loftin, Robert Loftin and sister-in-law, Jewel Twiggs of Goldsboro.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to the Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1000 E. Ash Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530.

The family will receive friends today from 4 until 6 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
